Safety Warning When Selling - Who's Looking in Your Home?

A warning went out a couple of years ago, warning people to be careful about what they display on their vehicles. When meeting with our home sellers during an in-home consultation, WE are the ones warning of what you are telling the world about your home!

Who is looking in your home when you go on the market? ANYBODY and EVERYBODY!

Living in our homes, we get comfortable. We should; it is our home; it should be comfortable and convenient. Selling your home is not convenient, and we all have lots going on and lots to do. Regardless of where you sit with preparation, one thing we want to make sure you do not overlook is the safety of yourself, your family, and your Realtor.

Part of the training we take on being a professional home stager is about ethics and safety! While visiting with our clients on how to prepare their homes to go on the market, we are making sure that everything looks good and the listing photos will highlight the house; we are also ensuring that certain things are not visible to anyone and everyone!

Face it, when a property goes on the market, anyone and everyone are looking into your property, your personal space!

There are certain things they do not need to know:

They do not need to know who you are or what you do for a living or fun.

They do not need to know about your children.

They do not need to know about your valuables.

They do not need to know where to find the goods.

As trained professionals, we know what to look for and what others might be looking for that they have no business knowing anything about. We also have ways to help sellers continue to access specific items without hassle.

We often hear from sellers that they did not even think about certain things we find and how grateful they are for us pointing it out. Our Realtors also appreciate that we have an excellent presentation and explanation for their clients to make it easy and understandable.

If you would like us to work with your clients to ensure that you provide them with all the best information for preparing to go on the market, we would love to offer a walk-and-talk complete with a report of everything we discuss, including the safety tips! One thing we can all agree on, you can never be too safe, and your clients will thank you for keeping their best interests in mind!
